These days, Dioceses, Circuits and Societies are making efforts to establish media teams to cover, project, stream and publish Church events just a click away. The next level is producing broadcast TV programs to reach out to everybody. The Methodist Church Ghana through the Communication and Publications Directorates has stepped up its strides in reaching out to the world with good Christian content via Television for this mandate.
Amid all the buzz about people moving to the Internet, the audience for broadcast and cable TV is still huge. If our goal is culture change, then the size of the audience means that TV still needs to be in the evangelism mix and that is what we subscribe to.
The Sunday service is happening weekly, the pastor is teaching, and many churches are already filming their services with multiple cameras. It’s not a major step from shooting a service for streaming or social media, to developing a broadcast TV program, it is the level we have reached now.
WTV, promises to deliver some good content even during the test transmission period. Catch us soon as we hit your televisions with the Wesleyan Zeal in a new dimension. We could certainly stand to see more creativity as well as correct theology when it comes to programming. The truth is, television is still a powerful medium, and if we’ll take the time to understand how it works, and how it connects with an audience, it still can be an important element in sharing our message with today’s culture and the diversity of people we seek to save to Christ.
We are undergoing our final phase of preparations towards hitting your screens with test transmission in a matter of days. Our doors are open to all businesses and individuals with quality Christian programmes. The focus is reaching out to the world.
